The verification process on Sequel is an optional verification step designed to help ensure user authenticity and improve platform safety. It is based on a quick photo check where you are asked to replicate a gesture shown on the screen.
Step-by-step guide
1. Start of the verification flow
After a few swipes on the product, the system may automatically trigger the verification process.
- If you choose not to complete verification, you will not receive a verified badge next to your profile.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions
You will see a specific hand gesture displayed on the screen. Your task is to reproduce this gesture.
3. Take a live photo using your camera
- You must take the photo in real time using your device's camera
- Uploading an image from your gallery is not allowed
4. Retake option available
If you are not satisfied with the photo, you can retake it before submitting.
5. Submit your photo
After submission, you can continue using the platform normally while your verification is being processed.
6. Confirmation
Once your verification is approved, you will receive a confirmation pop-up in the app.
Important notes
- If you haven’t added a profile photo yet, or if your photo was rejected or is of poor quality, you may receive a notification asking you to upload a photo first and complete mandatory verification afterward.
Your verification will be considered successful if:
- Your face is fully visible in the frame
- Your face is not covered by hands, sunglasses, hats, phones, or other objects
- You are clearly identifiable and can be matched with your profile photo
You reproduce the requested hand gesture
