How do I add a user to my blacklist or report them on Sequel?

Your safety and comfort are our top priorities. We believe you should have complete control over who you interact with on our platform. If you no longer wish to be in contact with another member for any reason, you can easily Block them. If you encounter behavior that violates our Community Guidelines, we strongly encourage you to Report the user.

You can block or report a user directly from your Discover page or from your chat history. Once completed, the action is immediate.

How to Block or Report a User

Method 1: From the Discover page

Navigate to the user's profile on your Discover page.
Tap the Three dots icon in the top right corner of their profile photo.
Select Block or Report from the dropdown menu.
If blocking, a confirmation window will appear. If reporting, you will be asked to select the reason for your report.

Method 2: From the Chat

Open your chat with the user.
Tap their name or the Three dots icon in the top corner.
Select Block or Report User.
Confirm your action to block, or choose a report reason and hit Submit.

Blocking vs. Reporting: What’s the Difference?

Use BLOCK when: You simply aren’t interested, the chemistry isn’t there, or you find them annoying, but they haven’t broken any rules. This is your personal boundary tool.
Use REPORT when: The user has violated our Community Guidelines. This includes harassment, offensive language, scamming/spamming, catfish profiles, or soliciting money.

Important: If you feel unsafe or have experienced harassment, please Report the user before blocking them. Reporting sends a request to our Trust & Safety team for review so we can take action to protect the rest of the community.

What Happens When You Block Someone?

We understand that you may be concerned about whether the other person will know they have been blocked. Here is exactly what happens:

No Notification: The user is not notified that you blocked them.
Invisible Profiles: You will no longer appear in their search results, match lists, or "Who viewed me" lists. Conversely, you will not see their profile either.
Messages Disappear: The chat history will be removed from your inbox. They will no longer be able to send you messages.
Unmatching: Blocking automatically "unmatches" you from the user.

Note: If you unblock a user later, your previous chat history will not be restored, and you will need to match with them again to send messages.
